Lessons for saxophone and clarinet can be taught in all styles and genres as well as helping students to prepare for music festivals, RCM exams and university entrance auditions and portfolio prep. So long as the student enjoys the lesson and is having fun while improving. Teaching method is catered to the student's learning style as every student's learning and capability is different. Lessons will be catered based on the goal of the student.
Whether you are interested in assistance in learning the instrument, improving already established skills or starting from the beginning, the expertise of the instructor will encourage and guide you in the right direction of your musical development.
Developing proper academic skills are essential to any musician, theory and ear training will be included in the lessons as students progress.
Lessons can be 45-60 minutes in length. Lesson length is determined by a student's age ability and experience and teacher's suggestion.
60 minute lessons are REQUIRED for students who are starting out on their instrument and to maintain improvement progress for all level and abilities
90 minute lessons are REQUIRED for students who are taking RCM level 8 exams and over. (Currently based on availability)
RCM exams are not recommended until the student is comfortably settled into the instrument. To start, they will need to understand their body coordination with the instrument.
Tina's teaching policy - in order to move on and do exams, students MUST be at the full level standard requirement. This is set to be in the best interest for the students.
