2016 Year End Student Recital

2016 Year End Student Recital marks a special day for founder and educator Tina Wang. 11 years ago in 2005, little did she know, Tina was just starting her path towards her future. In between 2005 and 2006 Tina started saxophone lessons for the first time with Dr Julia Nolan, a renown saxophone teacher in Canada. Under her guidance, Tina had the opportunity to attend masterclasses and perform for Dr Eugene Rousseau and Claude Delangle. It was truly amazing experience in which Tina decided to share her passion and love for the saxophone in the years to come. Her first student was Michael Wang, a family friend who wanted to learn the saxophone in 2005. She officially started teaching in 2007/08 when she started her undergrad at UBC school of music. Now fast forwarding to 2016, Tina has founded her studio - Phoenix Music Academy and dedicate her life in pursuing her passion to educate students to be the best they can be. There is no such thing as cannot, if anyone tries and put in effort, anyone can learn. As a teacher, the best gift is to see all the students succeed and strive to be better, constantly improving themselves. Congratulations to all of the students' performances, even to those who were not able to make it at the last minute.
